Out of Nowhere
Out of nowhere, you just decided to pop up, acting like it hasn’t been over a year since we last talked.
Sure, you have your apologies and your explanations; is that supposed to make me forget you were not there when I needed you?
Never in the decades of friendship have you ever not responded when I was in a bad place; but last year you walked.
Suddenly you’re back with all this news about your life and confidence in me like you always do.
I can’t turn my back on a friendship that has been a staple in my life since I was ten, but things have changed.
We clearly are not as close as we once were, our bond took a hard hit.
It also appears I may be staying put, the year brought with it a lot of insight and my priorities have been rearranged.
As you said, not only am I survivor, but I come back even better, and you are right, I am totally about that shit!
Out of nowhere, over a year later, you decided you still want to be friends; so okay, we can still be friends.
We have known each other way too long and been through too much to just walk away.
I will always consider you one of the dearest people I have ever known, once thinking maybe there could be more; but for us friends is where it ends.
Better to be able to save a friendship than lose one another completely, everything happens for a reason and things are meant to be this way!
