 This Agony Isn’t Mine 

 

This agony isn’t mine, but I feel it today as if it were. 

I feel an ache, a misery, a loss of someone I never knew. 

This agony isn’t mine, but I feel it just the same because it’s yours; of that, I’m sure. 

I feel the pain, I recognize the grief, for the woman I never met that loved you! 

 

This agony isn’t mine though I share it with you because of our connection. 

Wishing I could hug you, hold you in these arms of mine; until the pain goes away. 

This agony isn’t mine, but I would take it from you if I could; to save your heart, be your protection. 

But since I can’t take it away, know I am here for you, I will share in your agony; I will bring you peace and I will stay!
