I Want to be Your Journal

I Want to be Your Journal

I want to be your journal, the one to listen when you need to get things off your chest or to get something out that’s been floating around your brain.

I want to hear about your day, even when it’s got you upset or frustrated.

I want to have you tell me about the kids you’re mentoring and anything else in your life that helps keep you sane.

I want to be your friend, your person; I want to know you completely, allowing me to be more empathetic to your needs; when we first met, it was an empathy vibe I radiated.

I want to be your journal; someone you can tell anything to; it’s how I build patience and understanding.

Even when you’re angry, please know you can always talk to me, I can just listen, I don’t have to speak.

Holding things in, big or small, can take a toll; I’m always here willing to lend an ear because I know your life is extremely demanding.

When we first met, you felt compelled to tell me everything, don’t worry, lots of people do; it’s the empath in me, in that you are not unique!

I want to be your journal, I miss hearing about your life, past and present; the good and the bad.

You fascinated me from day one, and hearing about how you became you just added to it.

I loved listening to you talk about music and fond memories of your past; even those that made you nostalgic and sad.

I didn’t get a chance to know you sooner, but I want to know you now; I want to be a part of your life even as an outside entity; if I am learning more of who you are, I don’t give a shit!

I want to be your journal, please let me in; tell me more about you like you used to.

I’m not going anywhere; I am here, and I always will be because I promised.

So, finish stories you started, and tell me more; share the things that make you happy, sad, angry; I want to know all of you.

I want to be your friend, not just your lover; and your stories along with the little details of your daily life are really missed!
